The symposium will be organized and hosted by Erciyes University, Faculty of Arts and will cover the topics on <\/strong><strong>Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Urdu Languages, Literatures and Cultures. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>SYMPOSIUM AIM:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the 1<sup>st<\/sup> International Symposium on Asian Languages and Literatures is to explore and contribute to disciplinary and interdisciplinary researches on Asian studies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>SYMPOSIUM TOPICS:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The papers may survey and analyze one or more of the following subjects:<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>National Language Policies,<\/li>\n<li>Asian Languages and Comparative Linguistics,<\/li>\n<li>Comparative Studies of Asian Languages,<\/li>\n<li>Language and Culture Interactions,<\/li>\n<li>Teaching Asian Languages as a Second\/Foreign Language,<\/li>\n<li>Translation Problems in Asian Literatures,<\/li>\n<li>Asian and World Literatures,<\/li>\n<li>Etymological History of Asian Languages,<\/li>\n<li>Asian Languages and Information Technologies,<\/li>\n<li>Asian Languages and Literatures in Turkey and in the World,<\/li>\n<li>Philosophy and Religion in Asian Literatures,<\/li>\n<li>Ancient Asian Literature,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM AND PRESENTATIONS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Abstracts must be submitted to the following email: <a href=\"mailto:ades@erciyes.edu.tr\">ades@erciyes.edu.tr<\/a> until <strong>21 March 2011<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Abstracts should be written in <strong>MS Word format<\/strong> and should not exceed 250 words.<\/li>\n<li>A short <em>curriculum vitae<\/em> is to be attached.<\/li>\n<li>Paper abstracts will be evaluated by the technical committee, and those accepted will be classified according to their subjects and announced on <strong>4 April 2011<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Papers that are not actually presented at the symposium will not be published in the Proceeding.<\/li>\n<li>Each presenter is expected to finish reading his paper in about 15 minutes, and there will a question and answer section at the end of presentation.<\/li>\n<li>Presentations are to be given in either <strong>Turkish<\/strong> or <strong>English<\/strong>.
